2017 Convention
DB Seabank Resort, Mellieha Bay, Malta
By popular demand the 2017 convention returned to Malta following the success of the 2016 event. A varied mix of sessions stretching from the USA to New Zealand, looking at safety, human factors and presentations focussed around the successes of 2016. These included the restoration of the Norwegian Star Fighter Project and the Red Arrows Asian Tour.
2017 Also saw the introduction of the Ann Vanderhagen Award for Innovation, following the tragic passing Ann earlier in the year. The inaugural award was presented to The Royal Air Force Air Cadets and the Royal International Air Tattoo, recognising the innovative way both organisations support each other to achieve their aims and promoting Youth in aviation.
Technology was also a focus area, looking at exploiting its use for organisation, safety and how to enhance the guest experience, which included activities for the delegates set up by Daniel Gonzales as part of his presentation on Transmedia.
